J. Pablo Arnoletti, MD, FACS

Dr. Arnoletti is a surgical oncologist, board certified in general surgery and focuses on multi-disciplinary care of patients with tumors of the pancreas, stomach, liver, bile ducts and bowel. He currently serves as the Chief of Surgical Oncology and focuses on minimally invasive surgical approaches for the treatment of these conditions.

Scott W. Bloom, MD, FACS, FRCSC

Dr. Scott W. Bloom is a board-certified general surgeon and educator. His dedication to the field of surgery has been recognized by numerous awards and distinctions, including the University of British Columbia's H. Rocke Robertson Award for Undergraduate Surgical Education and, for five years in a row, the Staten Island University Hospital Attending Physician of the Year award. As an attending surgeon at Staten Island University Hospital, Dr. Bloom held multiple leadership positions, including Associate Chairman, Department of Surgery, Director, General Surgery and Program Director, General Surgery Residency Program.

Jeffrey C. Chiu, MD

Dr. Chiu joins the elite medical team at The Center for Specialized Surgery. His chief medical interests include minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, as well as breast, endocrine and gastrointestinal surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine in 2009 and completed a residency in general surgery at Florida Hospital Orlando.

Sebastian de la Fuente, MD, FACS

Dr. de la Fuente is board certified in general surgery and fellowship trained in advanced surgical oncology, for which he also holds advanced certification. His surgical specialties include pancreatic cancer, benign pancreatic diseases, liver and bile duct diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, sarcoma and melanoma, focusing on minimally-invasive techniques.

Steve Eubanks, MD, FACS

Dr. Eubanks is a board-certified general surgeon and specializes in minimally-invasive for upper gastrointestinal diseases. Since joining Florida Hospital, he has served as Director for the Florida Hospital Academic Surgery.

Rhonda L. Harmon, MD, FACS

Dr. Harmon is a board-certified general surgeon and specializes in breast cancer and skin cancer surgery. She serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Florida State University and University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

Steve McElveen, MD, FACS

Timothy Steve McElveen, MD, FACS, has been a board-certified general surgeon for more than 20 years and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1997. He joined the Center for Specialized Surgery and Florida Hospital Medical Group from Anderson, SC, where he was a practicing general surgeon and previous Chief of Staff at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Christopher Olukoga, MD

Dr. Christopher Olukoga is a board-certified general surgeon with vast and diverse minimally invasive and robotic surgical experience. He earned his medical degree from the University of Benin College of Medicine in Benin City, Nigeria in 1994, and completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Howard University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the distinguished Graduating Medical Students’ Resident of the Year Award among other top honors.

Joseph D. Portoghese, MD, FACS

Dr. Portoghese was originally board certified in general surgery in 1992 and dually specializes in general surgery and minimally-invasive surgery for array of medical conditions. In his extensive history with Florida Hospital, he served as President of Medical Staff from 2004 to 2006, and currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer.

Bernadette C. Profeta, MD, FACS

Dr. Profeta, board-certified and fellowship-trained general surgeon, specializes in minimally-invasive colon and hernia surgery, as well as an array of gastrointestinal and general surgery procedures. She has nearly 15 years of surgical and teaching experience, and joins Jeffrey C. Chiu, MD at the East Orlando location from Our Lady of Lourdes Health System in Camden, New Jersey, where she served as the Director of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery.

Alric V. Simmonds, Jr, MD, FACS

Dr. Simmonds is a board-certified general surgeon, specializing in breast cancer surgery, endocrine surgery (thyroid/parathyroid) and hernia repairs. He became the second member of the faculty to join the Florida Hospital General Surgery Residency Program in 2006 and now serves as the Assistant Director.
