J. Pablo Arnoletti, MD, FACS

Dr. Arnoletti is a surgical oncologist, board certified in general surgery and focuses on multi-disciplinary care of patients with tumors of the pancreas, stomach, liver, bile ducts and bowel. He currently serves as the Chief of Surgical Oncology and focuses on minimally invasive surgical approaches for the treatment of these conditions.

Jeffrey C. Chiu, MD

Dr. Chiu joins the elite medical team at The Center for Specialized Surgery. His chief medical interests include minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, as well as breast, endocrine and gastrointestinal surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine in 2009 and completed a residency in general surgery at Florida Hospital Orlando.

Sebastian de la Fuente, MD, FACS

Dr. de la Fuente is board certified in general surgery and fellowship trained in advanced surgical oncology, for which he also holds advanced certification. His surgical specialties include pancreatic cancer, benign pancreatic diseases, liver and bile duct diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, sarcoma and melanoma, focusing on minimally-invasive techniques.

Steve Eubanks, MD, FACS

Dr. Eubanks is a board-certified general surgeon and specializes in minimally-invasive and robotic surgery for upper gastrointestinal diseases. Since joining Florida Hospital, he has served as Director for the Florida Hospital Academic Surgery.

Rhonda L. Harmon, MD, FACS

Dr. Harmon is a board-certified general surgeon and specializes in breast cancer and skin cancer surgery. She serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Florida State University and University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

Jean F. Miner, MD, FACS

Dr. Miner is a board-certified general surgeon and serves as the program director for the General Surgery Residency program at Florida Hospital. She specializes in hernia repair surgery—from the simple to the complex—and received advanced training to perform single-incision cholecystectomy.

Joseph D. Portoghese, MD, FACS

Dr. Portoghese was originally board certified in general surgery in 1992 and dually specializes in general surgery and minimally-invasive surgery for array of medical conditions. In his extensive history with Florida Hospital, he served as President of Medical Staff from 2004 to 2006, and currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer.

Bernadette C. Profeta, MD, FACS

Dr. Profeta, board-certified and fellowship-trained general surgeon, specializes in minimally-invasive colon and hernia surgery, as well as an array of gastrointestinal and general surgery procedures. She has nearly 15 years of surgical and teaching experience, and joins Jeffrey C. Chiu, MD at the East Orlando location from Our Lady of Lourdes Health System in Camden, New Jersey, where she served as the Director of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery.

Enrique Vega, MD, FACS, FAAFP

Dr. Enrique Vega is board certified in general surgery and family medicine, focusing on diseases and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, breast and skin, as well as hernia repair and both thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2006, and completed a residency in general surgery at Florida Hospital Orlando where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the distinguished Dr. Joseph D. Portoghese Resident of the Year award twice, as well as receiving the Florida Board of Medicine Chairman’s Resident Recognition Award.

Alric V. Simmonds, Jr, MD, FACS

Dr. Simmonds is a board-certified general surgeon, specializing in breast cancer surgery, endocrine surgery (thyroid/parathyroid) and hernia repairs. He became the second member of the faculty to join the Florida Hospital General Surgery Residency Program in 2006 and now serves as the Assistant Director.
