Bio

Dr. Evans is board certified in general surgery and specializes in acute care surgery, the management of traumatic injury and critical care medicine. He serves as a dedicated inpatient general surgeon and critical care specialist who can perform an array of laparoscopic and minimally-invasive surgical procedures.

He attended the University of Florida where he received his medical degree. Following, he received his general surgical training at the University of Illinois at Chicago where much of his research experience was gained.  For the next 6 years, Dr. Evans served in the United States Navy where he elevated to the rank of Commander and became the head of the department of general surgery at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.  Upon completing his duty, he acquired his critical care training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.  Throughout his medical and surgical career, Dr. Evans has been instrumental in continued research that forges the field of surgery, including laparoscopic and minimally-invasive surgery, into the future. He has participated in a significant amount of research, published a litany of peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and letters, as well as participated in numerous scientific exhibits and presentations. Though he can perform an array of surgical procedures, he has a special interest in abdominal wall reconstruction, gastric surgical diseases including gastroesophageal reflux and complex hernia repairs.
