Bio

Rhonda L. Harmon, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon who focuses on skin and breast cancer. She has a special interest in melanoma and oncoplastic breast surgery, as well as minimally invasive techniques. She serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Florida State University and University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Prior to moving to Florida, she was Assistant Professor of Surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
 
Dr. Harmon earned her medical degree from The Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine in Charleston, South Carolina, and completed an internship and her residency in surgery at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, where she served as Chief Resident.
 
Through her well-rounded training and experience, Dr. Harmon has frequently been a sought out expert on the latest surgical techniques. In February 2011, she was invited to speak at the XII International Congress of General Surgeons in Lima, Peru, where she focused on laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery, laparoscopic incisional hernia surgery and laparoscopic single incision cholecystectomy. She also has spoken about breast cancer and melanoma throughout Central Florida.
